Don't ask about the ship: Video Game Protagonists and Gender
Nothing too lengthy or philosophical here, I’m just seriously questioning something about protagonists in video games.
Why is it that seemingly the most popular protagonist is a boring-looking white male brunette? Why not a blonde with green eyes? Redhead with blue eyes? A…
Oh I know there are other protagonists out there. But the overwhelming majority of them are the cookie cutter “white brunette male.” I am greatly looking forward to the Tomb Raider reboot, it looks well done and Lara is actually getting roughed up and kicked around quite a lot rather than getting special treatment and a dirt forcefield.
And if the Watch Dogs lead actually is Asian, then good on them. But from what I saw, he looks like your generic white brunette male.
