Now Playing Tracks

I just posted 'Children of the Stars' on Wattpad!

You know. Because why not. More people might see it. Think it’s cool. Actually want to get it when it’s published and buy the sequels.

You can even read it on your smartphone or kindle or tablet or…whatever other device does that sort of thing. My dad tested it out on his e-reader. So that certainly works.

This is terribly awkward. It’s not like “promoting” my story on fictionpress got it any attention.

Book Update: More Talinth Info Because I Hate Myself

  • The Plasma Bow

Basic build: Built from light and strong metals, synthetic material used for the string. Special current runs through the synthetic material to charge the shots.

Now is the shot in question a physical arrow or a pellet that dissolves into an arrow shaped energy bolt?

The pellets could be microscopic and fit inside the bow itself by the hundreds/thousands? Fixes the problem of carrying a heavy load of physical arrows.

Maybe assassin units have toxic pellets and less destructive power in their bows making them almost silent in comparison to front line bows?

The pellet in question is ejected from the centre of the bow and suspended in a kinetic tube projected by it. It’s held next to the string and subjected to the current, dissolving it into the arrow shape.

My haphazard wonderings from my notebook scribbling.

AT THIS POINT I’M JUST GOING TO GLOSS OVER THE GUN THING, SHRUG AND JUST SAY “THEY JUST DIDN’T INVENT GUNS, HEY LOOK OVER THERE IT’S A PLOT!”

Book Update: Talinth Government Thoughts

So I had some discussion with at least two friends about the Talinth leaders and government. This was mostly sparked from one of the friends questioning how sincere the Talinth leaders would be compared to our own leaders.

Needless to say I got frustrated and angry and stewed in some mysanthropic feelings for a bit.

But it did get me thinking.

The Talinth government is more or less a form of Deliberative Democracy. The major clan leaders and the leaders of the few subclans beneath them frequently come together and discuss the ruling of their civilization at large, what laws to pass, what direction their people should go in.

Now when the Unification Act came into play, I’m thinking that a set of rules were put in place to ensure their new government would be able to fairly lead their people into the stars.

Those rules go as follows:

- No clan can be pushed out of the council without reason. Such as if that clan becomes a threat to the whole or attempts to unbalance the council in their favour.

- All opinions must be considered from each clan involved with the council to ensure the best one is found for the betterment of the Sahren.

- If a clan is found to be swaying decisions in their favour they are to be ousted from their seat. If a clan is found to be setting another clan up they too are to be ousted.

There certainly needs to be more of them but that’s what I have so far.

After this I wondered if those leaders would adhere to the rules on their own or if an enforcer type clan would be in place to make sure they remember those rules.

So now there’s an enforcer clan that needs a name and a leader. I figured it would be of mixed origin so there would be little in the way of favouritism, so it wasn’t built of an original bloodline but a group of devoted Sahrists hand picked from various clans and countries.

Name: Lusaro

Leader: Tarh’el Lusaro

Tarh’el is a stoic warrior of Lun’sahre in her eighth century, she and the rest of the Lusaro guard stand watch over the council chambers as the clan leaders discuss the issues of their civilization.

I’ll expand on it more, but for now that’s what I have. At least it’s in place.

My only other thought about the Lusaro is that their devotion to Lun’sahre is shown in a similar matter to Shenra in as much as they tattoo red ovals around their eyes. It is symbolic of Lun’sahre’s appearance in life.

Soooo yeah, here’s some doodling from a while ago. It was supposed to be from left to right:

Sal’deriel

Hurei

Verian

All of them are from the Pariah book and I’m pretty sure they were introduced in the latest chapters. Fairly certain. Anyway. There they are for the most part ._.

I will eventually finish this but I will forever hate doing Verian’s hair.

I first heard this epicness from the ME3 launch trailer. Now whenever I listen to it, all I can do is picture the conclusion of my Work-In-Progress science fiction series; Pariah.

At the peak in the ending half of the song, I can always hear this one line of dialogue being uttered in the most righteous and final of voices:

“We did not start this war, Human. But by the Goddess, we will  finish it!”
