But now... we must see it with mortal eyes.I am rejecting that this happened, I don’t care.
I still don’t even understand why it happened. Isn’t it their duty to watch over/protect Azeroth? Just because Deathwing is out of the picture doesn’t mean the planet is suddenly safe :|
From the wiki page for “Charge of the Dragonflights”:
Satisfied that the small world had been ordered and that their work was done, the Titans prepared to leave Azeroth. However, before they departed, they charged the greatest species of the world, the Dragonflights, with the task of watching over Kalimdor, lest any force should threaten its perfect tranquility.
(cutting out the part about the titans bestowing power upon each aspect to make this shorter)
Thus empowered, the Five Aspects were charged with the world’s defense in the Titans’ absence. With the dragons prepared to safeguard their creation, the Titans left Azeroth behind forever.
So now we are pretty much fucked if anything stronger than or equal to Deathwing comes along. Awesome.
I think the writers just didn’t want to bother with having to tie the Aspects into the story for Mists. Since shits gonna escalate you’d think they would be stepping in all, “calm your collective tits, mortals, we only JUST saved this world from total destruction!”
But nope - my headcanon will have the black dragonflight recover, a new Earth Warder is appointed and everything is peachy because we still have our immortal dragon Aspects to watch over us silly mortals.
